SPAD 19

Little is known about the SPAD 19, and only a single photograph of the type is believed to exist. It was a two-seater and appeared to have a larger wing span than the SPAD 11 or 16. The single central exhaust stack also suggests a different engine than lhe Lorraine-Dietrich used in the SPAD 16. However, one source states that lhe SPAD 19 was fitted with a 280-hp Lorraine engine. Finally, the wing bracing was significantly different from the SPAD 11 or 16. Historian Jean Deveaux believes this plane was intended as an army cooperation type. As far as can be determined, no SPAD 19s were used operationally.
